The Crescenta Valley Youth Council will meet on May 24 to discuss issues that affect area youth.

For several months members of the youth council, which is sponsored by the Crescenta Valley Town Council, have worked to create an organization that will be  an outlet for young people in the Crescenta Valley area.

Their goal is to be a voice for those who are not yet old enough to vote. They will be tackling issues that are similar to those faced by CVTC but with the angle always focused on kids. From public safety issues to school and homework pressures, the council will be a forum for information and discussion.

April 26 was the council’s first official meeting. A presentation by CV High School’s Key Club members was made and the council discussed upcoming events.

The meetings are geared toward a youth audience however everyone is invited to the CV Youth Council’s monthly meetings.

This month, CV Sheriff Explorers will give a report on public safety pertaining to younger residents. The La Cañada Flintridge Youth Council has been invited to join the meeting as well.

The meetings are held on the fourth Thursdays of the month at CV Sheriff’s Station at 7 p.m. at 4554 N. Briggs Ave.
