29th Annual Arts & Crafts Festival This Weekend

Only a few more days and the tents will be moving in. Yes, the 29th Annual Montrose Arts & Crafts Festival will take place this Saturday, June 2 through Sunday, June 3. This is one all of us shoppers look forward to. It’s also one of the oldest events of its type in the state as well as the largest public event in the City of Glendale.

The event is fully booked with all three blocks of Honolulu Avenue closed off to through traffic. You’ll see wood workers, handmade clothing, tons of unique jewelry, ceramics, fine art, country crafts, novelty, garden décor, wind chimes, glass, metal works, pottery, custom signs, handmade pillows, linens, artisan soaps, potpourri, all kinds of purses and totes, rustic signs, dolls, sterling toe rings, and much, much more.

Now what’s a festival without great food? Not only will you have all of our unique Montrose restaurants and cafés, you will also be treated to a wide variety of outdoor summer fair food. The main International Food Court with seating will be set up right at the intersection of Honolulu and Ocean View. A secondary food court can be found at Wickham Way, near CitiBank.

Some of our Harvest Marketplace vendors will be here both days. Watch for “Lenny G’s” and his New Orleans Po’ Boys, twirling chickens from “Hawaiian Chicken,” “Bamboo Thai” food, sausages, “La Gordita’s Feliz” Mexican and south of the border fare, and “LemNMan Lemonade.” We will also have a crepe vendor selling fresh sweet and savory crepes, kettle corn, and Dip N Dots cold treats.

If you are looking for special packaged foods we have some great booths for you. Watch for an array of easy to make packaged soups, the new brownie booth and a gourmet tea booth with bowls of loose tea.

Live street bands will be stationed throughout the shopping park. Our entertainment includes Gremoli New Orleans Jazz Band, the Safari Jazz Trio, the Hispano-American guitar sounds of Sarkis, Frankie’s Martini Kingdom and Duchicella music of the Andes featuring the Andian flutes.
