4000 block of Briggs Avenue in La Crescenta, a transient with a BB gun was taken into custody after he walked into the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station. He is a local man that is known to deputies and has mental issues. He was transported to a medical facility at 10:30 a.m.

2000 block of Montrose Avenue in Montrose, a vehicle was stolen after a woman parked by the Lordz Flowers building. The owner of the business reported that she had heard the phone in the business ringing. She ran into the store for a few moments, leaving her vehicle’s engine running and the doors unlocked. She heard noises by the rear door of the business and saw a man get into her vehicle and drive away. The man was described as white, 5’11” weighing about 170 pounds, wearing khaki shorts and a sleeveless black T-shirt. The car was a 2003, black four-door Ford Expedition. Her purse was in the vehicle at the time it was stolen at 9:25 a.m.

2900 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, a metal bench was vandalized by spray painted graffiti at the Crescenta Valley High School between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m.

2800 block of Mary Street in La Crescenta, someone stole registration tags off a vehicle overnight.

2900 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, a metal elevator door was vandalized by someone marking it with a black marker between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

2200 block of Daisy Lane in La Cañada Flintridge, new and used clothing was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.

1900 block of Verdugo Boulevard in La Cañada, a man reported that as he was sitting at a table at Starbucks working on his computer a man walked up to him and asked him if the silver Mercedes in the parking lot belonged to him. He said yes. It was then that the man allegedly punched the sitting man in the face.

Due to the fact that he was seated, the blow knocked him back. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s shoulders and started shaking him. The victim reportedly said to the suspect, “Whoever you are mad at, I’m not him.”

The suspect let go of the victim and ran out of the business to the parking lot. The suspect ran to his vehicle, then realized the victim was following him. He took off his shirt and covered his vehicle’s license plate and drove off. A witness reported that he did not see the suspect hit the man, however he heard the suspect yelling outside Starbucks.

When the witness asked what was wrong, the suspect told him that while he was on the freeway the victim cut him off and made an inappropriate gesture, which made the suspect mad. The suspect was described as white, 6’ to 6’3” tall, weighing about 200 to 215 pounds.

4800 block of Oakgrove Drive in La Cañada Flintridge, a 46-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man allegedly drove through the main gate at Jet Propulsion Laboratory without stopping. One of the JPL security officers activated the pop up road columns to stop the vehicle. The man’s vehicle hit the column. JPL security ordered the man out of the vehicle, but he refused. A guard drew his gun, the man told the officer to “shoot him.” He was ordered to the ground. Again he did not comply, so he was pepper-sprayed. He was transported to the hospital, then to jail at 11:48 p.m.
