This year the Crescenta Valley High School graduation ceremony will be held at Glendale Community College. In years past the event was held at Stengel Field. Though a traditional favorite, most who have attended a graduation there know the parking challenges.
(Stengel Field was not available this year due to some structural damage.)
For the CVHS Class of 2012, parking at GCC is expected to be easier with two parking structures available and ample exterior parking.
Below is a video that provides information on the parking lot available at GCC and the path to the track and field where the ceremony will be held.
Glendale College Police Chief Gary Montecuollo will have cadets lined alongside the sidewalks and in the parking structure to help with any questions parents, and guests, will have concerning the graduation ceremony.
The best way to travel to GCC from Crescenta Valley for the ceremony is:
Glendale (2) freeway south to the Mountain Street exit.
Turn right onto Mountain Street.
Turn right onto College DWY
Park in parking structure.
Take either the stairs or elevators to Track and Field.
GCC Police Cadets will be lined along the walkway to help guide.
Those with handicap permits can exit off the Glendale (2) freeway.
Turn right onto Mountain Street and follow to Verdugo Road and turn right.
Turn right into Parking Lot I, which will be used as the handicap parking lot for the ceremony.
Police cadets will be there as well.
The Glendale Civic Auditorium at 1401 N. Verdugo Road (across from GCC) will also open its parking structure for CVHS parents and guests.
The CVHS 2012 graduation ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. CVHS seniors are asked to arrive by 4:30 p.m. Gates to the GCC stadium for guests will be open at 4:30 p.m.
