Saro Shirinian of La Cañada Flintridge received a master’s degree in Public Administration from Marist College.

Marist is an independent comprehensive liberal arts college with an enrollment of 4,200 full-time undergraduate students.

Andrew Goldsworthy of La Crescenta graduated from Johnson & Wales University with an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts. He is a graduate of Crescenta Valley High School.

Goldsworthy will continue living in Raleigh, North Carolina where he is working at local restaurants, the Raleigh Times and Gravy.

Johnson & Wales is a private, nonprofit institution with accredited undergraduate and graduate degree programs in business, hospitality, culinary arts, technology and education.

Michelle C. Ferrara, a 2001 graduate of Crescenta Valley High School’s inaugural Science and Medicine Academy, graduated magna cum laude from St. George’s University, School of Medicine, on June 9 at Lincoln City in New York City.

Ferrara has accepted a residency position in internal medicine/psychiatry with North Shore Long Island Jewish Health Care Systems beginning in July.

Stonehill College recently named La Cañada resident Kelsey A. Johnson, a member of the class of 2015, to its dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester.

To qualify for the dean’s list at Stonehill, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

Stonehill College is an academically challenging community of 2,500 students on an active campus located 22 miles south of Boston offering easy access to internships, job opportunities, museums, sporting events and more.

Mallory LeeWong was among a select group of students recognized at Colorado College’s honors convocation, held recently in Shove Memorial Chapel.

LeeWong, a member of the Colorado College Class of 2012, received the Robert E. Rubin Prize in Political Economy and the Fred A. Sondermann Memorial Fund.

LeeWong is the daughter of Elaine and John LeeWong of La Cañada Flintridge.

Colorado College is a four-year liberal arts college that was founded in Colorado Springs in 1874. The college operates on the innovative Block Plan, in which its 2,000 undergraduate students study one course at a time in intensive 3½-week segments.

Kate R. Applebaum of La Cañada received a degree from Clark University on Sunday, May 20. Applebaum graduated with a Master of Public Administration.

Clark awarded 546 baccalaureate, 520 masters, and 26 doctoral degrees during the 108th commencement exercises.

Brandon Barberio of La Cañada Flintridge participated in Gonzaga University’s graduation exercises during a commencement ceremony held on May 13 in Spokane’s Veterans’ Memorial Arena. Barberio graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Gonzaga University is dedicated to its Jesuit, Catholic and humanistic roots, educating the mind, body, and spirit to create women and men for others. Gonzaga offers 75 undergraduate programs of study, 25 master’s degrees, a Ph.D. in leadership studies and a juris doctorate in law.

Henry Richard Harris of La Crescenta received a BAC degree from Washington and Lee University on May 24. Commencement ceremonies for 401 Washington and Lee seniors were held on the university’s historic Front Lawn.

Harris majored in economics and history.

Former La Canada High School student Forrest Bourke of La Cañada joined 83 other students from around the world to form the 10th freshman class at the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering in Needham, Mass.

Olin College is an undergraduate engineering college offering an innovative curriculum that aims to produce technological leaders.

Olin’s unusual approach to engineering education incorporates entrepreneurship as well as the arts, humanities and social sciences.

Interdisciplinary, project-based learning is the hallmark of Olin’s academic program.
