St. James Catholic School was invited to participate in the annual Holy Childhood Association Mass celebrated on Oct. 26 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. The school was chosen to have students serve as altar servers and present the readings for the mass. It was an honor for the classes that went to the mass and St. James students enjoyed being a part of the celebration. Nola Ching, St. James religion teacher, said that she likes taking her students down for this special mass because it is focused on the children. The Holy Childhood Association started more than a century ago as an outreach for children to help each other. St. James participates in the mass every year and expects to continue the tradition in future years.
