CVHS Graduates Class of 2012

Crescenta Valley High School students walked the stage at Glendale Community College Thursday afternoon. Family members and friends filled the stands waving flowers, yelling their graduate’s name and trying to take a picture as their senior received their diploma.

Carrie Ostler and Demitri Camperos gave senior addresses. Ostler reflected on how different each of the students were and how they were prepared to begin their lives all traveling in separate directions.

The one common bond between them, however, was Crescenta Valley and this graduation day.

Camperos, as is his usual style, decided to approach the senior speech from a completely different angle. He quoted the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

Mixed in with words of wisdom from Fresh Prince, Camperos touched on his years at CVHS and how resilient the students had been.

The 2012 class gift of a stained glass window for the library was presented to the administration. Glendale school board members Joylene Wagner and Greg Krikorian were presented the Class of 2012 and the names of over 600 names of seniors were read.

The commencement ceremony began at 5:30 p.m. and ended shortly after 7 p.m. The caps were thrown into the air and the seniors marched out of the stadium though some stopped just long enough to give hugs to friends and “high fives” were exchanged.

In about two hours time, those high school students became graduates and their future lay ahead of them.
