The CV Chamber and the rest of the bees of the Crescenta Valley are busy organizing many events.

In celebration of our nation’s Independence Day on the 4th of July, the CV Fireworks Association is delivering another spectacular fireworks show at La Crescenta Elementary. Starting at 4 p.m. there will be carnival rides, food and family fun with fireworks starting at dusk. Come and celebrate with your neighbors.

The CV Chamber’s next business mixer will be at Modella Uniforms on July 11. Mixers are a great way to see a local business up close, while mingling with many other business owners in the community. Please join us from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Modella Uniforms located at 3115 Foothill Blvd., Suite D in La Crescenta.

A new business in the area, Thera Yoga, would like to invite everyone to a ribbon cutting welcoming them to the Crescenta Valley. The ribbon cutting will be Thursday, June 21 at 1 p.m. at 4105 Ocean View Blvd. Suite A in Montrose. Please come by for some refreshments and see their new studio and welcome this new business.

Our scholarship golf tournament will be at the Verdugo Hills Golf Course on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 8 a.m. to noon. For only $45, you play golf, have lunch and help give money for scholarships to local high school students. This year we gave five worthy students a scholarship to help with their college expenses. You can also sponsor one of the holes at the golf course that day for only $100.

At the golf tournament this year we will also be making the planet happy with our e-waste recycling event. You finally have a safe place to bring those old computers, televisions, monitors, printers, fax machines, copiers or most other electronics that are old relics sitting in the back corners of the garage. Bring them to the Verdugo Hills Golf Course for e-recycling on Saturday, Aug. 4. SoCal Recyclers is organizing this event and will make sure your e-waste is properly handled, disposed of and recycled. They also include identity theft protection via data destruction of your hard drives.

Please check our website www.lacrescenta.org or call our office for more details on any event.
