Aug. 7

Ramsdell and Encinal avenues in Montrose, a semi-truck and trailer along with its cargo of meats and sausages were stolen from a street at the location. The driver said he parked his truck and trailer at the location at 11 p.m. and went home. When he returned at 6 a.m., he saw the truck and trailer was missing. He reported he was contacted by a witness who told him he noticed the vehicle was missing at 1:30 a.m. The cargo inside the trailer was estimated by the driver to be worth about $150,000. The incident occurred overnight.

 

3100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a 1992 blue Toyota 4-Runner was stolen along with the camera equipment that was located inside the vehicle. The owner reported that his vehicle had been impounded at Crescenta Valley Tow. He retrieved his vehicle on July 14 but at the time it was inoperable. He pushed his vehicle to the Orchard Supply Hardware parking lot and left it. When he went to check on it on July 28 he found it was gone. He assumed it had been towed again and checked with a CV Tow employee who reportedly told the owner that two white males in their 40s had loaded his car onto a white trailer that was pulled by a white Dodge Ram truck. The incident occurred between July 14 and July 28.

 

Aug. 4

2800 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a man reported as he was driving westbound on Foothill Boulevard at noon he heard something hit the rear window of his vehicle causing the window to shatter. He immediately pulled over to the side of the road but did not see anyone who could have caused the damage.

 

2600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, workers at Zen Sushi heard a “loud crackling sound” in the dining area of the restaurant. They discovered a window had apparently been shot out. A witness reported seeing a newer model gray, four-door Toyota Camry drive off eastbound on Foothill Boulevard out of view. Deputies discovered a small BB size hole in the restaurant’s window.

 

Aug 3

2700 block of Orange Avenue in La Crescenta, a driver’s side window was smashed in a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle said he saw his window was shattered then looked in the drivers side area and saw a large concrete block sitting on the driver seat. The incident occurred overnight.

 

Aug. 1

2100 Glenada Avenue in Montrose, the interior of a vehicle was ransacked and money was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.

 

3900 block of Sunset Avenue in Montrose, a woman reported that someone used her personal identification to apply for a credit card with the Men’s Warehouse. She received a notice from the store that she did not receive the credit card, which she had not applied for. The application was made on July 24.

 

3900 block of Sunset Avenue in Montrose, a woman reported that someone used her personal identification to file for a tax return with the Internal Revenue Service. She discovered the possible filing after receiving a letter from the IRS stating her return was being further reviewed. The filing apparently occurred on April 24.

 

July 31

2300 block of Barton Lane in Montrose, a man found a death certificate issued in Oregon State belonging to an unknown person. The man reported that he found the death certificate in his trashcan that was on his street at 2 p.m.
