Daniel Goetz, son of Richard and Christine Goetz of La Cañada, has been named to the 2011-12 Lawrence University dean’s list for maintaining a minimum 3.4 grade point average.

Founded in 1847, Lawrence University uniquely integrates a college of liberal arts and sciences with a world-class conservatory of music, both devoted exclusively to undergraduate education.

Ellen Gruber of La Cañada Flintridge earned dean’s list honors at Saint Joseph’s University for the spring 2012 semester. Gruber is majoring in English at the university. Students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above (a B or greater in all their classes) and complete at least 15 credits to earn dean’s list status for a semester.

Former Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy soccer star Jillian Jacob began her season with Loyola Marymount University on Friday, Aug. 17 when the LMU Lions faced Cal Poly in their first regular-season game. Jacobs, a former standout for Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, is a freshman playing forward for the Lions, who compete in the West Coast Conference.
