Documentary producer Brian Gerber, 41, has been found dead near his vehicle that plunged off a cliff on the Angeles Crest Highway.
On Wednesday at about 7 a.m., Montrose Search and Rescue recovered Gerber’s body that had apparently been thrown from his vehicle as it went over a cliff at mile marker 31.
The Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station received a call about 6 a.m. from a motorist who had seen the vehicle. A patrol helicopter spotted the producer’s Toyota Prius over the side about 600 feet, and MSR was called out.
“We found the body of a deceased male about 100 feet [above] the vehicle,” said Mike Leum, MSR.
Gerber had been reported as a missing person, said Lt. Angela Shephard.
Lt. Fred Corral said the death is being investigated as a possible suicide.
Gerber produced “The Dungeon Masters” and “The 11th Hour,” a documentary on the state of the global environment.
