An information meeting is scheduled for tonight, Thursday, regarding development of the property where Central Christian Church was located at 5027 New York Ave. The land has been purchased by developer The Olson Company. The meeting is on the site at 6:30 p.m.

Local residents near the 5000 block of New York Avenue are invited to an informational meeting concerning the purchase by The Olson Company of the Central Christian Church property.
“This is just an introductory meeting,” said Eric Everhart, vice president of Community Development at The Olson Company.
The purchase is in the early stages of escrow. The meeting is part of the company’s due diligence concerning the property and future building.
There are no plans, Everhart said, of building an apartment complex on the site. Some residents had feared this. The preliminary plan is to build single-family detached homes, similar to those already in the area, he added.
“It is important to us to introduce ourselves,” Everhart said. “We take great pride in what we do.”
The company, which has been in business since 1988, was established to “assist cities in solving the critical shortage of affordable housing in urban areas,” according to the its website.
Crescenta Valley is far from an urban setting, however the homes that Olson would build would take into consideration the surrounding neighborhood.
“The first step is to introduce ourselves,” he said.
The meeting will be at the location, 5027 New York Ave. tonight, Thursday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
