Crescenta Valley High School held its Back To School night on Thursday, Aug. 30 under skies heavy with rainclouds. But the foothills were treated to only a few random raindrops – the worst of the late summer storm hit Pasadena, Burbank and the Antelope Valley – and by the last of the classroom visits, the skies had cleared and a full moon had risen.
New and returning students and their parents enjoyed performances by the school’s music department and a barbecue provided by Prom Plus. They also had the opportunity to purchase the school year books at the lowest price of the year and learn of various clubs at CV. Even Quacky the Duck from the Kiwanis was on hand to remind folks that now’s the time to support the annual Kiwanis Incredible Duck Splash at Verdugo Park on Oct. 13 by adopting a duck (www.ducks4kids.org).
The purpose of the night was to acquaint parents with their child’s schedule and learn of the demands of each class.
