Local Cardiologist Named A Top Ten Business Woman

The American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) named Martha Preciado, M.D. of Tujunga as one of the Top Ten Business Women of the Year. The Top Ten Business Women of ABWA is a national program that honors 10 outstanding members for achieving excellence in career, education and community involvement. At the ABWA National Women’s Leadership Conference in Memphis, Tenn., one will be selected from the 10 honorees to represent the association as the American Business Women of ABWA.

Dr. Preciado is a six-year member and leader of Glendale’s ABWA Verdugo Glen chapter where she has served as vice president, Woman of the Year 2011, Education and Fundraising Events chair and on many committees.

She received her medical degree from UCLA where she is an assistant professor at the School of Medicine. Dr. Preciado is president and CEO of Preciado Cardiology in Los Angeles where she strives for excellence in treating and educating the community in cardiovascular disease, especially among Latinos. In 2011, she traveled with “Ordinary Women” to Kitale, Kenya to visit villages and tribes providing supplies and educational services related to cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Preciado, the mother of two daughters and two sons, resides in Tujunga with her family and husband Lucien Froidevaux Ph.D., a JPL physicist.
