Parents are being reminded to speak to their children about Stranger Danger after a man reportedly exposed himself to a 16-year-old girl in the 4100 block of Ramsdell Avenue.

The incident occurred on Sept. 6 at 3:45 p.m. when a teenager was waiting on Ramsdell Avenue for her mother. The teen reported that a man drove past her in a white Ford Explorer. He was traveling northbound on Ramsdell and continued to drive out of sight. Then a short time later appeared driving southbound on Ramsdell and parked just south of where the teen was waiting.

The teen reported the driver exited the passenger side of the vehicle with his pants around his thighs with his genitals were exposed. He faced the girl, made eye contact then immediately pulled his pants up and got into his vehicle. He drove away, making an immediate left heading east.

Shortly after the incident, the teen’s mother arrived and her daughter told her of the incident.

The man is described as white, in his 40s, about 6 feet tall with a thin build. He had dark hair and a dark beard.

School authorities have been told of the incident. They have sent out a PhoneEd reminding parents to speak to their children about the dangers of walking alone.

“Travel in groups,” advised Rosemont Middle School Principal Cynthia Livingston. “There is safety in numbers.”

Glendale Police and Crescenta Valley Sheriff detectives are working together. The incident is under investigation.
