Nevin Schulz was born in Santa Maria, Calif. on Oct. 26, 1918 and passed away on Sept. 10, 2012. He was 93 years old.
Nevin loved his family. He is survived by his three sons Paul, William, and James and two daughters Mary and Barbara; six grandsons and eight granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.
He spent his growing years in Pasadena, Calif. attending school, delivering the Star News, and forming lifetime friendships.
Nevin served his country in the United States Navy as a quartermaster. He spent time in the South Pacific during World War II.
After serving for four months, he was awarded the Purple Heart in addition to a unit commendation of a Bronze Plaque for battle efficiency while serving on an LCI. He served on two additional ships in the Mediterranean and Alaska.
Nevin is now united with his beloved wife Margaret who preceded him in death in 1993.
Services are scheduled at Saint James Catholic Church on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 11 a.m. followed by a grave side service at San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
