Women from all over the southwest region to come to Pasadena.
The Junior League of Pasadena, Inc. (JLP) will host the 2012 Southwest Exchange Conference at the Pasadena Hilton on Sept. 14-15. The Southwest Exchange conference will bring together women from Junior League chapters from all over the southwest region of the United States for a weekend of trainings and discussions led by some of today’s most prominent women leaders in the business and non-profit sectors.

Additionally, the keynote luncheon will be given by author and producer Laurie David, whose most recent book, “The Family Dinner: Great Ways to Connect with Your Kids, One Meal at a Time,” is an inspirational, practical and green guide to the vital family dinner ritual and how to accomplish it in today’s busy world. David was also a producer of the 2006 Academy Award winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth,” executive produced the HBO documentary “Too Hot NOT to Handle,” and the TBS comedy special “Earth to America.”

David also authored the bestselling book “Stop Global Warming: The Solution is You!” and co-authored “The Down-to-Earth Guide to Global Warming,” which has been published in over eight languages.

Some other highlights of the 2012 Southwest Exchange Conference will include an opening reception with the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) at the Kidspace Children’s Museum, a jumpstart to Saturday’s events with a yoga and running session through Pasadena with Lululemon, and a presidents’ panel on membership engagement and retention while ending the weekend of events on with a cocktail reception at the Junior League of Pasadena headquarters.
