Inaugural Korean Armenian Festival
The first Korean Armenian Festival is scheduled for
Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Crescenta Valley Park.
The festival celebrates the music, traditions, games, food and activities of the Korean and Armenian cultures. The event is co-sponsored by the L.A. County Dept. of Parks & Recreation, Supervisor Michael Antonovich, local businesses, the CV Town Council and local non-profits. A portion of all proceeds benefit the town council scholarship fund and the Fire House Youth Center.

Unsafe Pedestrian, Traffic Issues on
CVTC Agenda
On Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m., the CV Town Council meeting will host representatives from CHP, Public Works and the Sheriff’s Dept. to discuss unsafe pedestrian and traffic issues within the La Crescenta and Montrose areas. The public is encouraged to come, ask questions and express concerns.
In addition, a comment form to submit concerns/issues and proposed solutions can be found on the council website
www.thecvcouncil.com. The meeting is held at the La Crescenta Library community room, 2809 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta.
Hospitals to Hold Blood Drives

Hospital are holding blood drives sponsored by the American Red Cross.
The GAMC drive is on Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the main auditorium. To schedule an appointment, visit www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code

The VHH drive is on Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 7 a.m. to
7 p.m. The drive will be held in the hospital’s Council Rooms B & D, located on the fourth floor and donations will benefit

Before donating, blood donors must be in good health; be at least 17 years of age; bring photo ID; weigh at least 110 pounds; drink plenty of water; eat a nutritious meal; and have not received tattoos within the last 12 months.
Donors to either blood drive will receive two free tickets to the Laugh Factory, a Mimi’s Café coupon, and a voucher redeemable for two USA Chivas tickets.

Souplantation Hosting Pre-opening
“Fun-Raiser” Benefiting Glendale Arts
The newest Souplantation at 2921 Los Feliz Blvd. in the Costco Shopping Center in Glendale is scheduled to open on Monday, Sept. 17. To celebrate the grand opening, Souplantation has partnered with Glendale Arts to host a preview fundraiser event on Friday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For $5, diners can enjoy Souplantation’s salads, made-from-scratch soups and hand-crafted muffins, focaccia, breads and desserts. Souplantation will donate 100% of the proceeds to Glendale Arts, a private non-profit organization that manages and operates the historic Alex Theatre, provides resources to increase capacity for artists, manages the Glendale Pops and Youth Chorus, and operates the Glendale Arts website and GA Tickets, a ticketing solution for the community.
Souplantation in Glendale will be open daily from 11 a.m. to
9 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends
beginning Sept. 17.
