Family Bowling Tonight
Tonight, Thursday, Sept. 20, the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 1st Annual Family Bowling Night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Montrose Bowl. The cost is $20 per player, which includes bowling and food. It is $10 for kids 6 to 12 and non-bowlers. Register as a team or as an individual to be placed on a team with other individuals.

Sheriffs Prepare for Open House
The Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station is inviting the community to its Annual Station Open House on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The station will open its doors for tours so the public can meet some of the station personnel and learn how they work together to provide service for the community.
There will be displays from other specialized sheriff’s units and some local community members. Montrose Search and Rescue Team members and McGruff, the crime fighting dog, will be on hand. The Mobile Range, Share Tolerance Trailer, and the MADD/DUI Exhibit trailer will offer demonstrations. Free children identification photo cards will be available plus much more. There will be food and snacks available to enjoy while visiting the station.
This free event is expected to be fun for all of citizens.

Safety Issues on CVTC Agenda
The CV Town Council meeting tonight, Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. will include issues relating to traffic and pedestrian safety. CHP, Public Works Dept. and Sheriff’s representatives will listen to concerns. Speeding, parking, crosswalks and low visibility are a few issues that will be addressed.
The council will also be promoting its annual pancake breakfast taking place on Sept. 29 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the CV High School quad. Tickets are $5. Local non-profits, including CVHS Prom Plus Club and other CVHS organizations, are selling tickets with part of the proceeds benefitting the organization.
