The La Crescenta Woman’s Club presented $2,800 in scholarships to worthwhile students from Crescenta Valley High School and Glendale Community College who are going to college.

The scholarship committee consisted of Chair Deanna Alfeld with members Mary Ann Jennings, Carol Jones and Margaret Dickson.

Recipients are Kelly Vargas and Nancy George who are attending Glendale Community College. Crescenta Valley High School recipients are Iris Kim who received the Roberta Kurtz Fine Art Award, Michelle Um, Clare McCreary who received the New History Award, and Xochitl Clare.

The Woman’s Club always welcomes new members. The first meeting of the year is Oct. 10 with guest Grace Piddings who will explain the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar (HOBY).
