The La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild’s 55th annual author’s luncheon will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the Angeles National Golf Club in Sunland. The silent auction and 50/50 raffle starts at 9:30 a.m. Speakers at the luncheon include children’s author Katie Machoskie, mystery writer Hadleigh Garrard, Crescenta Valley historian and author Jo Anne Sadler, and CEO of the Los Angeles Orthopedic Hospital Dr. Anthony Scaduto. Their presentations begin at 10:30 a.m.
The funds from the luncheon will be donated to the Charitable Care Program for children in the Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital. Past LCFOG luncheons have raised between $14,000 and $16,000, according to LCFOG Chairman Margot Siess.
Lunch will be served around noon with a menu offering vegetarian and chicken dishes as well as fresh peach cobbler for dessert.
Guests can expect a “pleasant afternoon of local ladies and hearing three outstanding local authors,” said luncheon chairperson Joan Cleven.
Siess anticipates that around 150 guests will attend the luncheon.
