Clean Up Day is Saturday
The community is encouraged to participate in Foothill Community Clean Up Day on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at Dunsmore Park. This is a free event. Group photo will be taken at 9:15 a.m.
Help walk foothill neighborhoods picking up debris at this annual event. Breakfast and lunch provided.

COMMUNITY MEETING CALLED FOR VHGC
L.A. City Councilmember Richard Alarcon has introduced a motion naming the Tuna Canyon Detention Station – the current site of the Verdugo Hills Golf Course – as a historic monument as part of his effort to save the VHGC. He is holding a meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. at North Valley City Hall to bring people up to date on this action.
The North Valley City Hall is located at 7747 Foothill Blvd. in Sunland.
CVCA to Present Forums
Join the Crescenta Valley Community Association tonight, Thursday, for two separate forums beginning at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library. The first forum is an informal discussion with the candidates vying for seats on the Crescenta Valley Town Council. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the candidates in person questions about local issues.
Immediately following at 8 p.m., the Glendale candidate forum for Assembly District 43 will be presented. Mike Gatto and Greg Krikorian will square off at Glendale City Hall but we will show the forum via streaming video. This forum is co-sponsored by the Glendale/Burbank League of Women Voters and the Glendale Homeowners Coordinating Council.

Elks Holding Dinner, Dance
The Sunland-Tujunga Elks are hosting the Purple Pig March and tequila rib dinner/dance on Saturday. Social time/pig march begins at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Dance music provided by Paul Farrow and Mandy Williams.
The cost is $15 per person at the door. Proceeds benefit California-Hawaii Major Project that provides medical help and therapy for many children throughout California and Hawaii as well as vision and hearing testing for preschoolers.
