A fashion show celebrating Honolulu Avenue’s The Clothing Market’s two-year anniversary will take place on Saturday, Nov. 17. The party will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with finger food and refreshments offered. The fashion show will begin at 4 p.m. inside the store, located at 2260 Honolulu Ave in Montrose. Ten percent of the sales made on the day of the fashion show will be donated to CV High School Prom Plus.

Business partners as well as husband and wife Sebu and Maral Chatoyan are the owners of The Clothing Market. Maral is the sole designer of the clothing brand 24/7 Comfort Apparel, which is offered at the store. The couple is proud that all their clothing is manufactured in the U.S.A.

For the fashion show, familiar faces will be found on the catwalk.

“We look at [our] customers and we are inspired by them, the way they buy clothing,” said Sebu. “We wanted to show the product on real women. We aren’t going to be bringing in size two models; it doesn’t justify what the product is all about and who the real woman is all about.”

Sebu said that women of all shapes and sizes can wear 24/7 Comfort Apparel, with the line offering sizes from XS up to XXXL.

“We cater to everyone and that is why we have been successful,” he said. Maral added that they soon will be launching a plus size line as well.

Through their clothing business, The Clothing Market has played an active role in the community. They have participated in fundraising for the American Legion, hosted Foothills Relay for Life, helped out with the CV Town Council pancake breakfast, donated gift certificates and will give clothing to the Glendale Homeless Shelter this Christmas.

The couple has lived in the Glendale area for 18 years. Maral stressed that the community is extremely important to them and that they are eager to give back.
