On Wednesday, Nov. 14, the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce will transform the Marketplace Shopping Center into a one stop dining arena as they host their fifth annual Taste of the Foothills.
The community is invited to share in the appetizing event between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at 2629 Foothill Blvd. in the Ralph’s shopping center.
Over 25 of the some of the area’s best restaurants will be serving their signature dishes as well as some other tasty delights.
New restaurant Tickle Tree Café will be participating in the event for the first time this year. With only a few months of experience serving flavorful entrees in the foothills, owner Jane Kwon wanted to properly showcase their food for the public.
“We are new and would like to introduce ourselves. We went to the La Cañada [tasting event] recently and we had a good time,” said Kwon who will be serving up salads and a sample of Tickle Tree Café’s chicken sandwich at the event.
As guests feast on some of the foothills most delicious cuisine with their families and mingle with their neighbors, they will be also be treated to music by the CV High School Jazz Band.
“The goal is to highlight the restaurants and to give people the opportunity to take cuisine from local restaurants,” said CV Chamber executive director Julia Rabago adding that last year over 500 people were in attendance and this year even more “foodies” are expected to join in the savory fun.
For only $15 for those 13 and over and $10 for children between the ages of 5 and 12, the event will be the place to eat on Wednesday night. Tickets are now available and can also be purchased on-site.
Local students have the opportunity to team up with the chamber to sell tickets through their school in order to raise some funds.
