“Many people are good at talking about what they are doing, but in fact do little. Others do a lot but don’t talk about it; they are the ones who make a community live.”~ Jean Vanier
Thank you to those who took time out last night to attend our Taste of the Foothills event. Thank you to those who do so much for this community; especially the ones who do not talk about it but just show up, ready to help and ready to volunteer.  Thank you to those who care deeply about this community and offer support every chance they get.

As the holidays are fast approaching, let’s remember to shop locally, thank locally and think locally. When you stay local for your shopping, more dollars stay in the community, more jobs stay in the community and more tax dollars go to schools and roads in your community. For every $1 spent at local businesses, 45¢ is reinvested locally. Non-local purchases keep, at most, 15¢ in your local community.

Please support the restaurants in this community as well. They work tirelessly to bring good food to our neighborhoods. Thank you to the restaurants that supported our Taste in the Foothills. Please have dinner at one of these soon and tell them thank you!

Coming soon is the Best Business Directory 2013! Don’t miss this once-a-year opportunity to promote your business! The chamber is in the process of producing our annual Best Business Directory. The directory is used by thousands of Crescenta Valley residents to shop locally for products and services throughout the year. Ad sales are closing Nov. 30. This directory is distributed to 10,000 residents and businesses in the Crescenta Valley. There are over 350 local businesses that offer their products and services. It is a ready-reference for emergency services, fire, police and medical. It supports local businesses that support our community activities and is a handy, user-friendly, digest size guide – perfect for purse, desktop, organizer or glove box. To advertise in the 2013 directory, contact Mike Riley at (818) 521-6406.
