Glendale Community College held its annual Patrons Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Castaway Restaurant in Burbank on Nov 2. Ellie Pipes, longtime Patrons member, invited her friends from the La Crescenta Woman’s Club to support the scholarship efforts of the Patrons Club.

This past year, the Patrons gave over $23,000 to aid deserving students.

Though former GCC superintendent/president Dr. John Davitt no longer escorts models on the runway, he was found in the audience this year, beaming in support of wife Gael who took to the catwalk at the annual event. Tamara Hughes from the La Crescenta Woman’s Club joined student and staff to model the fashions from Holiday Hats and Gowns of Montrose.

Marianne Jennings, also from the La Crescenta Woman’s Club, chaired the event.

Since 1947, the Patrons Club has given the college an estimated $695,000 to support its students.
