The NCL Glendale Chapter’s Class of 2016 held a dance-a-thon for the YWCA’s Adopt A Family program on Sunday. The dance-a-thon was held at the Glendale YWCA from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and raised $1,500 with the funds dedicated to women and children in need in the Glendale community.

Each year, the YWCA’s Adopt a Family program provides holiday gifts and necessities to the most underserved and underprivileged women and children in the area. This year the NCL set a goal to provide gifts for 55 women and 75 children in the Y’s domestic violence program. On Dec. 9, the NCL Class of 2016 will gather to make baskets filled with items their adopted families need, and also include personalized holiday greetings.

NCL supports the YWCA as well as other local charities and the NCL Class of 2016 also worked a total of 646 hours this summer as camp counselors during the YWCA Summer Camp program.

From June 2011 to June 2012, the YWCA of Glendale provided case management services to over 500 women, sheltered and provided food, clothing, and basic necessities to approximately 50 families as well as provided more than 500 hours of children’s mental health services.
