March 31, 1995 – Dec. 1, 2012
Beloved son of William and Constance; grandson of Shirley Vaughan of Columbia, SC.
Daniel was born March 31, 1995 at Verdugo Hills Hospital and lived his entire life in Montrose. He attended John C. Fremont Elementary, Rosemont Middle School, Crescenta Valley High and Daily High.
Bright, intuitive and talented, Daniel enjoyed artistic and academic successes, particularly during his seven years at Fremont. He was the fifth grade statewide winner in the “Imagine That” essay contest. He also played various instruments in the school bands and enjoyed a brief career acting in TV commercials.
His life was cut short on La Tuna Canyon Road on the evening of Dec. 1 when the car he was a passenger in swerved out of control and crashed into a railing. His family dearly hopes that if his loss keeps others from driving too fast on that stretch of road, he will not have been taken from us in vain.
Daniel is survived by many close friends and family. He was strong and courageous as he endured debilitating medical problems. He was the light of our life and will be dearly missed.
