The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning through 4 p.m. this afternoon (Monday).
“Winds can have gusts up to 60 miles per hour,” said Andrew Rorke, National Weather Service Oxnard meteorologist. “It will be cold and breezy. Winds will be more localized, [not widespread].”
He added it is not a widespread “wind event” like that of a year ago. In December 2011 strong winds whipped through several foothill communities causing severe damage and wide spread power outage.
The temperatures will be cold with a low of 39 degrees Fahrenheit and a high of 58 degrees F. The north/northeast winds are sustained at 25 to 35 mph, with strong gusts up to 60 mph, and are expected to decrease in the afternoon.
As of 4 a.m. there had been no reports of wind damage to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.
