Date Correction: CVWD Meeting
The Crescenta Valley Water District will be hosting a community meeting tonight, Thursday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. This meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss with staff members the upcoming construction of an eight-inch water main on the 3000-3100 blocks of Santa Carlotta Street and Cloud Avenue between Paraiso Way and Santa Carlotta Street. Local residents are invited to join us for discussion and refreshments.
The meeting will be held at the intersection of the Santa Carlotta Street and Cloud Avenue, La Crescenta from 6 p.m. to 7:30 pm.
Library News
Today, Thursday, Jan. 24 at 11 a.m., the La Crescenta Library is hosting a family play date. This is a time for parents to network and children to exercise their imaginations.
On Friday at 6 p.m., enjoy Magically Different with Justin Rivera. Rivera is an illusionist who guarantees a good time for his audience. Spend an evening being amazed. Although this program is designed mostly for adult audiences, it is family friendly.
Light refreshments will be served.

Newcombe Holding Booksigning, Walking Tour
Local historian and author Robert Newcombe will lead two Montrose historical walking tours that start at Once Upon a Time bookstore at 2:15 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27. His historical book “Images of America: Montrose” are available at the bookstore for purchase.
Check out favorite stores (OUAT has two pages!), never-before-seen pictures, documents and Montrose trivia – all in time for the centennial taking place Feb. 22.

Winter Wonderland at St. Mary’s
The Armenian Relief Society (ARS) of Western USA will be holding its Second Annual Winter Wonderland on Friday, Jan. 25 through Sunday, Jan. 27 at the St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church in Glendale.
The event will feature 26 tons of snow and snow slides; amusement rides for children of all ages to enjoy, such as a Ferris wheel and Super Slide; a game area; line-up of vendors, and great food prepared by ARS members. Live entertainment will provide additional enjoyment to attendees.
Admission is $3 for a one-day pass; $5 for a two-day pass; and $6 for a three-day pass. All ride and game tickets are sold separately.
Winter Wonderland hours are Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Proceeds from Winter Wonderland will benefit the ongoing local and international programs of the ARS in service of individuals and communities most in need.

Changes in Glendale
The Neighborhood Services Office (consisting of code compliance and customer service staff) has moved to the Municipal Services Building located at 633 E. Broadway in room 101. Their new counter hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to noon. The public will still be able to contact staff at the Neighborhood Services number, (818) 548-3700 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays.
