There’s a Cozy Valentine Table Waiting Just For You!
Happy Valentine’s Day, dear readers! It’s the start of a special day and there are so many ways to celebrate. On a day like this, why not choose to forgo doing dishes in favor of being served something you can’t make at home? In many surrounding towns, your only options are big restaurant chains and strip center fast food. Not so in Montrose. We have an abundance of one-of-a-kind cafés with charming décor, intimate tables, friendly service and imaginative food. This is a day when restaurant owners and chefs pull out all the stops and plan a special Valentine meal just for you.
Zeke’s Smokehouse (2209 Honolulu Ave.) specializes in the finest cuts of meat, so if it’s steak you are after, look no further. Today its New York steak for the ladies and a rib-eye for the fellas prepared to your specifications. Champagne will be served and be sure to save room for red velvet cupcakes big enough for two.
If south of the border flavors are calling your name, Joselito’s Mexican Restarant (2345 Honolulu Ave.) has just the Valentine special for you. For $39.95, a couple can treat themselves to an entire meal with drinks and a rose! This offer includes a tantalizing combo of marinated steak, chicken and shrimp grilled with bell peppers, onions and broccoli. It’s accompanied by rice, beans, fresh guacamole and sour cream. Plus you get to choose a bottle of champagne or two small margaritas. Can’t beat that! Oh, and don’t forget “Josie’s” has the best chips and salsa, with Mexican oregano, this side of heaven.
Are the flavors of Southern Italy what you’re craving? Then you must try Giuseppe’s Italian Restaurant (2428 Honolulu Ave.)! This year’s special is a three-course dinner for two for only $24.99. The meal begins with my favorite, the large loaded salad with fresh lettuces, topped with garbanzo beans, Italian meats and cheeses and your choice of dressing. Now the hard part, the entrée choice … do you go for the large handmade pizza with up to two toppings or their pasta with homemade sauce? Both are delicious! A perfect and fitting ending to this “only in Montrose” meal is pictured here. It’s Giuseppe’s beautifully presented white chocolate amoré truffle!
When it comes to food and Valentine’s, you know I can go on and on. Included in my love letter of Montrose dining recommendations are Cucina Rustica, The Black Cow, Star Café, 3 Drunken Goats, Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant, Montrose Wine & Kabob, Sake and Blue Fish. All have beautiful surroundings and delicious entrees at that cozy little table that’s just waiting for you.
All of us in the Montrose Shopping Park wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day!
