Feb. 17
2900 block of Honolulu Avenue, Glendale police were called concerning a report of several men fighting in the parking lot of a local bar. When the officer arrived, he found two men, one later identified as of one of two victims, and a 28-year-old Sunland man in lanes number one and two of westbound Honolulu Avenue. Both men had blood on their faces and hands. The two were detained.

Witnesses stated that two other men had been involved in the fight as well. The first man was described as white, 6’3” tall, with tattoos on his arms. The second man was described as “shorter and thicker” than the first. The men fled before the officer arrived. After a search, an officer discovered a man on Ramsdell Avenue at the alley north of Honolulu Avenue. The man allegedly told officers he was going to see if “those” guys jumped me. The man, later identified as a victim, pointed to two people in a nearby vehicle.

Officers found a woman and man in the vehicle. The man matched the description of one of the men who had fled the scene, later identified as a 27-year-old Eagle Rock man. According to a witness, the Sunland man appeared to have been very drunk and wanted to get into a fight. At about 2 a.m. inside the bar, the man allegedly initiated an argument with one of the victims. While they were arguing, the Eagle Rock man reportedly came up behind the victim and “sucker punched” him across the right side of his head. Then the two suspects allegedly began repeatedly punching the victim in the face. The fight spilled out of the bar where many people attempted to separate the men who were fighting.

The second victim attempted to help the first and the two suspects began punching him. At one point, according to the witness, one of the victims fell to the ground and the two suspects continued to kick and punch him. One victim helped pull the other victim away from the two men and was trying to get away. That is when officers arrived. The Sunland man appeared to be intoxicated and allegedly told officers that there had been a fight but he was not involved. The two suspects were arrested on assault charges and transported to GPD jail.


Feb. 16
4900 block of Ramsdell Avenue in La Crescenta, a duffel bag, cellphone and third row seat were stolen and the driver’s side keyhole was damaged on a vehicle overnight.


Feb. 15
4200 Oakwood Avenue in La Cañada Flintridge, a woman returned from a business trip to find her jewelry box was open and several items were stolen between Feb. 8-15.

5100 Alta Canyada Road in La Cañada, a witness reported that as she was driving north on Alta Canyada Road she noticed the door to a resident’s home wide open. She stopped and waited to see if there was any activity but there was no one there. She contacted the sheriffs. The  homeowner had arrived home and told sheriffs he received a phone call from a neighbor concerning the open door. After an investigation, it was discovered the window had been smashed with a rock. The residence was ransacked. It was discovered that several guns were stolen from the home between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

900 Berkshire Avenue in La Cañada, a resident returned home to find the front door open. He immediately contacted the sheriffs, but the suspect/suspects were not at the location. It was discovered the bedroom window screen was taken off and the crank mechanism on the window was broken off. The window was open. Several sports memorabilia items were stolen as well as jewelry. A witness stated he saw a white utility truck with a twin cab parked in the driveway of the location earlier.
The burglary occurred between 11 a.m. .and 3:55 p.m.


Feb. 12
5000 block of Commonwealth Avenue in La Cañada Flintridge, someone entered a home and stole an entire silver service set worth over $16,000 sometime between Dec. 25, 2012 and Feb. 3, 2013.

5000 block of Commonwealth Avenue in La Cañada, a leather jacket and iPod were stolen from an unlocked vehicle between Feb. 9-11.

500 block of Walmar Avenue in La Cañada, a global positioning system was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
