The Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge reminds the public that when spring cleaning comes around, remember the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge. The center offers year-round programs and is in need of many items that may otherwise be tossed out. The wish list includes sports equipment – baseball bats, gloves, helmets, soccer shin guards, tennis rackets, and basketballs. In conjunction with Assist Athletics, the center offers T-ball, basketball, flag football, tennis, and soccer.
“Outgrown or no-longer-used equipment can really help bolster our programs and save the center from purchasing new items,” said Amanda Balcazar, Programs director. “We have a feeling there are garages full of unused sports equipment that would really benefit the community center.”
Kitchen equipment ranks high on the wish list. Kitchen towels, potholders, cookie sheets, food processors, pots and pans with lids, and paper goods would significantly add to the limited culinary supplies at the center which offers weekly cooking classes for preschoolers. Additional and updated equipment would be a wonderful supplement.
Not sure what to do with unused gift cards? The community center can utilize gift cards to hardware stores, Home Goods, Target, sporting good stores, and grocery stores.
