Get Your Montrose Centennial Map… A Collector’s Item!

For all of those with the fancy new phones, there is an extremely popular app called “Map Quest.” At the push of a button it can tell you where you need to go and how to get there. Well, we came up with our own must have map. It’s not an app, but it will give you the flavor of the Montrose Shopping Park in a most whimsical way. Everyone who loves Montrose will want this map. Why? It’s a one of a kind caricature map that’s reminiscent of those done in the ’50s.
Our MSP Centennial Map was the inspiration of Montrose ambassador Steve Pierce. The MSP board liked his idea and last year a Centennial Map Committee was formed with Steve, Dale Dawson (MSP executive director), and Ken Grayson (MSP president). Mike Riley, owner of Riley & Associates Advertising, who does graphic design and printing, was brought in. Mike then proceeded to take photos of the entire Montrose Shopping Park and found the perfect graphic artist. I don’t know who the secret artist is, but I have been told this is the last map of its kind to be done by them.
You will want this map! It is printed on high quality stock that’s been varnished and coated. There are two sizes and both are full color. The 24”x36” is very impressive and sells for $20. The smaller 12”x18” goes for $10. The front of the map is creatively illustrated in a happy way. Our one-of-a-kind stores, cafes, and salons are set among our tree lined, curvy streets, and peppered with the town clock, Vietnam War Memorial, the American flag, and all of the events that make the Montrose Shopping Park the family place it is today. The back of the map is entertaining as well with old photos of Montrose surrounded by ads for local businesses that contributed to advertising on the map.

As with any collectable, there is an incentive to buy now and not wait because quantities are limited. If you are buying a map for a relative who is currently serving with our troops overseas, the Montrose Shopping Park is honored to pick up the tab for shipping it to them.
