The Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA is continuing its annual community support campaign to ensure that everyone in foothills has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. The association goal for the annual community support campaign is to raise $425,000 with a significant portion being allocated specifically to fund initiatives focused in the foothills community.
Financial gifts are being accepted that will, in part, help fund two youth development initiatives. A second grade swim initiative, to be launched later this year, will teach area children swimming and water safety skills that will keep them safe and build physical and social skills by the time they finish second grade. A teen leadership initiative will provide additional staffing at the Y to develop programs that will positively enhance developmental assets of local teens.
The Y also offers guidance to help people of all ages understand and value their physical and spiritual well-being. Its Chaplain Services initiative is available for all members, staff and the community.
Today, one in five families have access to the Y because of the Membership for All program, which keeps all programs and services affordable to all who wish to participate. The public’s financial support of the Y will ensure this ongoing program.
