Shirley Ann (Dujmovich) Hite passed away on Thursday, March 21 in Glendale at the age of 75 while recovering from surgery.

Born in Gary, Ind. on Jan. 29, 1938 to John and Dorothy (Winkowski) Dujmovich, Shirley was married to John Robert Hite in 1954. The couple had six children and the family moved to Southern California in 1966. They later divorced and Shirley raised her family while working as a waitress in several local restaurants including Bengie’s in Pasadena. She later moved to Montrose, managing the Bengie’s Glendale location for over 20 years until their closing. Shirley then worked as part of the supervisory team at Conrad’s Family Restaurant in La Cañada.

Shirley eventually became grandma to nine children, and great grandma to one, all of whom were the great joy of her life.

Shirley is survived by her mother-in-law Mary Hite; her children Cheryl Hite, Jackie (Jeffrey) Mutschler, Cinda Cox, Jerri (Edward) Simon, Lisa Hite, John Byron Hite; grandchildren Devin Hite, Savannah Collins, Phillip Collins, Christian Covey, Matthew Simon, Caitlin Hite, Chelsea Hite, Timothy Hite, Alexandra Hite; great grandchild Kahlia Hite; and her siblings Mary Jane (Herb) Maus, John (Darlene) Dujmovich, Nancy (Gabriel) Pena, Richard (Anita) Dujmovich, Barbara Dujmovich; and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents John Dujmovich and Dorothy (Winkowski) Dujmovich; sister Dorothy Dujmovich; brother Tony Dujmovich; and niece Kathleen (Dujmovich) Kristensen.

A memorial service will be held at Central Christian Church, 5027 New York Ave. in La Crescenta on Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Greg Davis officiating. A reception will follow.

All who knew her are welcome.

Once again, her family wishes to extend their eternal gratitude for the tireless and outstanding care by all who attended to her at Glendale Adventist Medical Center during what proved to be her final days.
