Crescenta Valley High School held its annual canned food, toys, and money drive. From Dec. 12 through Dec. 15, the Associative Student Body (ASB), with the help of the local Sheriff’s Department, organized this event encouraging all second period classrooms to participate.

“I feel that this drive is a great way to provide personal space for individuals to simply help people. This is the bare minimum that we can do,” ASB President Wayne Park said.

Teacher Kimberly Mathias collected the most items and received first place, followed by teachers Mathew Schick, Denise Pogroszewski, Ami Fox, Julie Patton, Win Saw, and Orenda Tuason.

“I like to donate because I want to help out the less fortunate. There are lots of people who do not have the same things we do, so this way I can just do my part,” sophomore Mathew Williams said.

The top class was determined by a point system, each donated item given a certain point value. All donated items were distributed to needy families in the area.
