Drug Take Back
The Crescenta Valley Drug and Alcohol Prevention Coalition with local law enforcement are participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event aims to remind people of the dangers of misused, expired and often-stolen medications found in most homes. According to Glendale Police Officer Joe Allen, there is an alarming trend of pharmaceuticals being abused to substitute for illicit drugs. The take back event is an attempt to remove unused, expired medications from people’s shelves in order to minimize their abuse or misuse.
Local take back sites include the CVS parking lots in Montrose and Glendale; Rite Aid parking lots in La Crescenta, La Cañada and Glendale; the Smart and Final parking lot in Glendale and Glendale Community College, at Circle Drive in Glendale.
Donor anonymity is guaranteed.
