College Scholarships Available
Also coming up is golf classic and scholarship fundraiser.
If you are a graduating senior from either Crescenta Valley or Clark Magnet high school, we have scholarship opportunities for you! As a local chamber, we look forward to the opportunity to give back to our community, and helping our students is one way we do that. Strong schools help make a strong community. Please take advantage of this opportunity. You can get an application from your school office or contact the chamber office and we will be happy to provide you with an application. Deadline to submit is Wednesday, May 1.
Our 17th Annual Golf Classic and Scholarship fundraiser at Verdugo Hills Golf Course is on May 23 from noon to 4 p.m. This fundraiser gives you a chance to enjoy a fun day on the golf course and also help us provide scholarships to graduating seniors in the Crescenta Valley. You will also help support the Verdugo Hills Golf Course, which is trying to remain a golf course instead of becoming a residential development. For the latest information on the status of the golf course and what Councilman Richard Alarcon is doing to help, log-on to savethegolfcourse.org. We would love for the residents and businesses to come out and support this event. There are various sponsorship packages available. We welcome donations from businesses for our auction and raffle. It’s a great way to market your business and help a local cause. You can also just come out and enjoy a round of golf!
Cucina Rustica, Giuseppe’s Pizzeria, Sake Sushi, La Cabanita, Oceanview Bar and Grill and All in 7 Stop Pizza will provide the food that is included free with your entry! Refreshments are provided throughout the course as well! Registration is from 10:30 a.m. to noon, putting challenge is at 11 a.m., lunch is from 11 a.m. to noon, shotgun start at noon. We will have a silent auction and live auction, raffle prizes and finish with our scholarship presentation to the scholarship winners. If you would like to golf in the event or help sponsor the event, please contact me at the chamber office. We accept all forms of payments. Remember, this is our annual scholarship fundraiser that provides scholarships to local graduating seniors from Crescenta Valley and Clark Magnet high schools. For more information about making a donation, contact the chamber office at (818) 249-7171 or mail a donation of any amount to the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce, 3516 N.
