June 16
3200 block of Foothill Boulevard in Glendale, a 50-year-old La Crescenta woman was arrested for shoplifting at Vons market. Two employees reportedly witnessed the woman in the liquor and wine aisles for several minutes. She had a personal bag and a Vons cart with several items of liquor in it. She moved the items from the cart into her personal bag, according to the employees.
One of the employees waited outside the market, the other employee continued to watch the woman. When the woman, who did not attempt to pay at any of the cash registers, walked outside of the store the employee stopped her. He identified himself as a Vons Loss Prevention officer and displayed his badge. The woman turned around and tried to evade him by entering the store again. The other employee, who was also a Loss Prevention officer, grabbed the woman’s arms to keep her from running away. The woman started to fight with both of the employees in an attempt to free herself. During the struggle, the woman attempted bite one of the employees’ hand. She ended up falling to the ground and a bottle of wine crashed to the ground and shattered.
The woman was held until police arrived at 4:32 p.m.


Verdugo Boulevard and Park Place in Glendale, police were called to the Marshall’s parking lot concerning a man causing a disturbance. When they arrived, they found the man near a dumpster in the rear of the parking lot. He was talking to himself, kicking his feet and waving his hands. The 44-year-old Glendale man spoke to officers. He allegedly appeared to be intoxicated. When officers asked him what he was doing at the location, he reported replied something about ninjas and dwarves. He also allegedly admitted to drinking a half a pint of vodka earlier in the day.
He was arrested for being drunk in public at 7:16 p.m.


June 14
In the 3400 block of Las Palmas Avenue in Glendale, a 23-year-old Glendale man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his sister after leaving a local bar. The sister reported to officers that she, her brother and his girlfriend had been drinking at the bar. They got into a vehicle, with the brother driving, and left the bar. It was during this time the siblings began to argue and the brother allegedly became violent and punched the sister on her face. He apparently dragged her out of the vehicle and continued to punch her.
When police officers arrived, they were told the brother and his girlfriend were inside a home at the location. Officers knocked on the door, the brother answered but refused to step out of the home as requested by the police. The brother shut the door, and police continued to knock on the door with no response. Officers went to the backyard and discovered the man had apparently ran out of the home and into a neighbor’s backyard on Sierra Vista Avenue.
Officers received a call from a resident who reported hearing a man screaming and crying for help in the rear yard of a home in the 3500 block of Angelus Avenue. Officers arrived and discovered it was the brother. They also discovered the fence to the Angelus Avenue yard had been broken as the apparent result of the brother’s attempt to jump over the fence.
The brother was arrested at 2 a.m.

Orangedale and Florencita avenue in Montrose, the rear tailgate of a truck was stolen between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.


June 13
3100 block of Cloudcrest Road in La Crescenta, three computers and cash were stolen and the kitchen window was shattered at a home. A resident returned home from attending a movie. When the resident arrived, she discovered the front door was not locked, as she had left it, and several rooms in her home were ransacked.
The burglary occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.


2900 block of Markridge Road in La Crescenta, two computers, a camera, cash and jewelry were stolen and a sliding glass door of a home was broken. A resident returned home to find his front door closed but unlocked; he had left it locked. Several rooms in the home were ransacked.
The burglary occurred between 8:15 a.m. and 7 p.m.


June 12
3100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, refrigerating tubing and a utility coil were stolen from Orchard Supply Hardware. The manager of the store reported hearing an employee yelling, “Stop” at a man who was throwing numerous coils of copper and aluminum tubing from a shopping cart into the rear of a black SUV.
The first suspect fled the location on foot, walking southbound on Cloud Avenue. The manager then saw another man get into the driver’s side of the vehicle. The manager attempted to get a picture of the SUV as it was attempting to drive away. The manager and a customer had to jump out of the way of the vehicle to avoid being struck.
The first suspect was described as a white man between 5’10” and 5’11” tall, 150 pounds, between 24 and 30 years old. The second suspect was also a white man, between 5’9” and 5’10” tall, weighing 150 pounds between 24 and 30 years old. The SUV was described as a possible 1980s to 1990s Chevrolet Blazer.
The incident occurred at 10:30 a.m.


Foothill Boulevard and Beulah Drive in La Cañada, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of concentrated cannabis and suspicion of being in possession of marijuana while driving after a traffic stop at 12:30 p.m.


June 11
Angeles Crest Highway and Green Lane in La Cañada Flintridge, a 22-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested on suspicion of possession of concentrated marijuana after a traffic/welfare stop at 4:15 a.m.


800 Green Lane in La Cañada, a window was shattered by a rock. The only disturbance in the home appeared to be the closet doors in the hallway and dresser drawers in the master bedroom.
Nothing was reported stolen from May 30 to June 11.


June 8
4800 block of Rosemont Avenue in La Crescenta, the driver and rear doors of a vehicle were damaged when someone shot paintballs at the body of the car overnight.
