Despite the extreme heat, the Montrose Classic Car Show was a success, according to Linda McMenamin, Montrose Shopping Park Assn. events coordinator.

Classic cars lined the 2200 and 2300 blocks of Honolulu Avenue on a very warm Saturday afternoon. The annual event attracts thousands of guests to the shopping park. In addition to having a chance to stroll the avenue of cars, shoppers were given free gifts simply by showing receipts of purchases made at local merchants.

Prom Plus Club kids volunteered to help with the event and they dressed the part. The teens dressed from 1920s flappers and dappers, to classic ’30s and ’40s to Rock n Roll ’50s and free spirited ’60s. They passed out information about the MSPA and posed next to classic cars.
