Marketplace … Every Sunday 9 to 2 at Harvest Market
Montrose is the place to be on Sunday mornings. In our quest to have the best market in the Southland, we have some new additions to our Sunday Marketplace that will enhance your fresh produce shopping!
Speaking of fresh produce, it’s in abundance right now and it’s corn and peach time! Marketplace manager Linda McMenamin says, “It’s not every farmer’s market that has live classical music to accompany its bounce houses!” She’s speaking of our newest music by VYMA, the Verdugo Young Musicians Association, whose mission is to promote music in children’s lives. While you are listening to that music, enjoy a Rainbow Hawaiian Ice by Jose Montes’ Hawaiian Delight. It’s their most popular flavor!
Finally! Welcome to Mark Fleishman Knife Sharpening, a much-requested service. Mark is the best and he will be here every Sunday! He’s located right next to the info booth and can sharpen everything from kitchen knives to large garden tools. Here is a sample of his reasonable rates: paring knife – $5, knives under 12 inches – $8, serrated under eight inches – $10, scissors – $12 and food processor blades – $10. Oh, boy!
It takes a really special jeweler to receive a space in the marketplace and Victoria Duque has earned one. Featured in InStyle magazine many times, Victoria is a local resident who creates one-of-a-kind jewelry that tells a story. She uses 14k gold, sterling silver, semi-precious stones, pearls and Swarovski crystals. She also likes to work with antique pendants, charms or cameos that can be creatively re-purposed.
So do come by and find out what’s new at your weekly neighborhood reunion. Montrose is for shopping! www.shopmontrose.com
