Sept. 11, 1949 – Aug. 28, 2013
Christopher Rex Thomas passed peacefully on Aug. 28 at the age of 63. The son of Stanley and Lucille Thomas, he was born in Chicago, Ill. and moved in early childhood to Pasadena with his family. Chris was always an ambitious worker, starting at age 9 selling flowers on the corner, and continued with many other jobs until he began his career as a real estate agent for Town & Ranch Realty, Inc. in La Cañada. He worked at Town & Ranch for over 25 years and mentored his fellow agents in his ethical footsteps.
Chris was a very passionate American, working for the Statue of Liberty Foundation, Los Angeles Olympic Committee, Presidential Campaign Committee, and at election polls. More recently, he devoted his time to working with special needs children and veterans doing horse therapy.
Chris loved the outdoors, especially the beach and hiking in his earlier years. But most of all he loved people. Chris was known for his kindness, generosity, and his willingness to always extend a helping hand. He had many close friends and was excellent at keeping in touch with others.
Chris leaves behind countless friends and family who loved him and enjoyed the long talks and the love of life he shared so easily with others. Chris is survived by his son Matthew; daughter Melissa; and a loving grandson who he adored, Gabriel. Good night, sweet dreams, we love you, Dad.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9 at La Crescenta Presbyterian Church, located at 2902 Montrose Ave., La Crescenta. For more information, or if you would like to sign his guestbook, go to www.cabotandsonsfh.com.
