Oktoberfest 2013 Now Serving Authentic German Beer
You asked for, it you got it! True German beer is back! All of our 2013 Oktoberfest German beers are brewed in Munich, Germany and are being brought in just for the annual Montrose Oktoberfest on Oct. 5. On tap will be Spaten Okto, Spaten Lager and Franziskaner Weis. Spaten Oktoberfestbier Ur-Märzen is the world’s first Oktoberfest beer. The beer of Munich’s famous Oktoberfest is aromatic, savory and amber-colored. This medium-bodied beer has achieved its impeccable taste by balancing the roasted malt flavor with the perfect amount of hops. It has a rich textured palate with an underlying sweetness true to tradition.
Spaten Münchner Hell is a classic German premium lager. It is a bottom fermented Munchner lager and is a supremely well-balanced blend between the sweetness of the malts and the bitterness of the hops making it easy to drink and quite enjoyable. Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse Hell is a top fermentation beer noted for its agreeable carbonation levels and zesty wheat flavor. It is brewed from wheat malt, barley malt, hops, top fermenting yeast and water according to a time honored Bavarian recipe and is brewed in strict adherence to the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516.
Of course, we will also have Budweiser, Bud Light, and Shock Top. And what better way to enjoy your beer than with a traditional Bavarian sausage made by Montrose’s own, Schreiner’s Fine Sausages! We will also be serving a traditional German potato salad to complete your German experience. So please join us at noon on Saturday, Oct. 5 to help us kick off the Oktoberfest celebration! Once again, we will be selling Oktoberfest T-shirts and hats with our new 2013 logo, featuring many local area bands and have lots of fun things for kids to do.
