Eric Patten
Eric Patten, 18, of La Crescenta has earned the highest advancement award
the Boy Scouts of America offers to Scouts: the Eagle Scout Award. A member of Troop 390, Verdugo Hills Council, Patten is one of approximately 7% of all Boy Scouts who attain the
Eagle rank.
Each candidate must earn at least 21 merit badges and successfully complete a community, church or synagogue-related service project to earn
his Eagle. Patten chose to organize his troop to build a bridge and restore park benches for the Theodore
Payne Foundation.
Patten is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is active in Crescenta Valley High School’s varsity basketball program, where he is a senior.
He is the son of Rick and Julie Patten of La Crescenta.
