Madness will reign supreme on Sunday, Oct. 27 when the historic Cinerama Dome in Hollywood continues its 50th anniversary celebration by presenting the film that started it all, Stanley Kramer’s madcap epic comic caper, “It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.” The film received it’s world premiere on Nov. 7, 1963 at what was then called Pacific’s Cinerama Theatre.

In an homage to the penultimate scene of the film, original stars from the movie, including Mickey Rooney, Barrie Chase, Marvin Kaplan and Stan Freberg, will arrive via special transportation at the 50th anniversary screening.

The shenanigans will get underway at 3 p.m. with celebrity and VIP arrivals as Mad World film fans from around the country descend upon the Cinerama Dome to witness the spectacle. Officials from the City of Los Angeles, including Kimberly Rodriguez who will be attending the event on behalf of the office of Mayor Eric Garcetti and Councilmember Tom LaBonge, of Los Angeles Council District 4, will be on hand to declare Oct. 27 “Mad World Day” in the City of Los Angeles and to present certificates of congratulations to the Cinerama Dome. Certificates will also be presented to members of Stanley Kramer’s family, including his wife, Golden Globe Award-winning and Emmy Award-nominated actress Karen Sharpe Kramer and Kramer’s daughter Katharine “Kat” Kramer. Other celebrities and VIPs in attendance include Lisa Jean Hackett, daughter of the late Buddy Hackett.

Guests will proceed to the lobby of the Cinerama Dome for the official unveiling of a new permanent lobby exhibit in tribute to Stanley Kramer’s “It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.” A Q&A prior to the screening of the film will be held with original cast members moderated by actor and comedian Jeff Garlin. The screening of the film will get underway at 5 p.m.

Tickets are available for the 50th anniversary screening of Stanley Kramer’s, “It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World” at the Cinerama Dome, 6360 W. Sunset Blvd. (located between Ivar Street and Vine Street) in Hollywood on Sunday, Oct. 27. The costs are $16 for adults and $14.75 for seniors.
