Glendale Youth Alliance honored by Small Business Heroes

The Glendale Youth Alliance (GYA) has been recognized by Small Business Heroes and insureon for their exceptional work in the community and with Glendale’s businesses. Small Business Heroes is a grant giving program and will be presenting GYA with a check for $1,000 on Tuesday, November 26.

The Glendale Youth Alliance (GYA) is a nonprofit organization and a partnership between government, education, businesses and our community. Glendale community leaders established GYA in 1993 with a mission to provide jobs and employment preparedness training for Glendale’s low-income youth ages 14-24. GYA programs are designed to build civic values in Glendale youth, provide a foundation to learn job skills and to become productive participants of the workforce. GYA operates six programs on a spectrum that provide mentored employment to youth and has provided first time employment and training to over 6,900 Glendale area youth.

The event, also honoring a handful of other small-business owners and non-profit directors will be held November 26 from 2:00-3:30 pm at Glendale’s historic Alex Theater, 216 N. Brand Blvd.
