Guests of all ages enjoyed an early morning breakfast at the La Crescenta Woman’s Club on Saturday. At first it was all about the sausage and pastries with kids moving from table to table making pine cone Christmas trees and sewing gingerbread men. A big attraction was the chance to climb onto a fire engine or talk to firefighters from Los Angeles County Fire Station 63 who pulled up in front of the clubhouse.

But when jingle bells began to ring, guests knew the main attraction was about to arrive. Kids began to jump up and down as Santa and Mrs. Claus entered the room. One little boy pulled on his mom’s hand; he just couldn’t get close enough to Santa and apparently had a lot to talk to him about.

One by one, the children sat on Santa’s lap while photos were taken. When each left, they walked away with the confidence that they had asked for just the right thing from St. Nick – and had received a toy courtesy of LCWC.

Though Josh Copi, 4, liked the crafts and the fire engine, he really liked the holiday cookies.
