Friday night found the Angeles National Golf Club filled with police officers, not clad in their police blues, but with their weapons holstered and their dance shoes on for their annual Christmas party.

The Los Angeles Police Dept.’s Foothill Division celebrated in style with a banquet complete with a band, photo booth, bar and a stand-up performance by “The Tonight Show”’s Jay Leno.

Leno kept the room loose before kicking off the raffle for the night with a deceptive yet satisfying first raffle prize. The winner, Queen Victoria Galamb, claimed her prize before the packed room, filled with many onlookers in the know, eagerly awaiting her reaction when opening the small box Leno handed her.

After opening the box, Detective Sid Gonzalez approached her on one knee, as the excitement on Galamb’s face became more and more palpable. Yes, the detective was asking her to marry him.

Applause and cheers erupted from all corners of the room as Galamb reacted with genuine surprise, still trying to process the events that had unfolded from a simple Christmas party.

But the next step was a fairly logical one for her. She said yes.
