The Prom Plus Holiday Home Tour and Boutique was held on Saturday. The tour featured an unprecedented five properties for which tickets holders made a $25 donation. The tour included a walk through of JP Weaver Co. in Glendale.

Since 1914 this company has been providing ornamental moldings, ceilings and fireplaces. Those who participated in the home tour were able to walk through rooms fashioned after French aristocratics to a stateroom of the Titanic.

Continuing the tour in Glendale was the Yaussi home. Each year this family chooses a holiday decorating theme. This year it was music. The Christmas tree continued the theme with sheets of music wrapping around like tinsel.

Two Mountain Oaks home brought people back to the early years of Montrose. The homes are nestled in the mountains overlooking Crescenta Valley Park. At one home a friendly wolf/dog greeted guests and added to the rustic feel of the amazing home. At another, the view from the patio could calm even the most stressful day.

And then there was Rockhaven Sanitarium. Actors portraying its founder Agnes Richards, residents Billie Burke and Gladys Baker, Marilyn Monroe’s mother, and gardener Ivan Cole brought this historical jewel to life. Friends of Rockhaven docents led the tour sharing the little known history of this wonderful haven for women.
